This week, my podcast interview is on mysticism with Karan Tumasz, who is a mystic. We'll be exploring how she is able to predict/anticipate a person's future based on her professional training.
Though mysticism is, by its very nature, mysterious, I am open to exploring and understanding it better rather than stigmatize or delegitimize it.
Read on for some of my reflections, and I hope you'll tune into the podcast teaser on mysticism (available today) and the full interview (available on Wednesday) for more information on this fascinating topic.
Have a super week!
Energy Fields and the Ability to Predict the Future
On mysticism and the gift of prophecy
When Karan Tumasz shares information that she feels would be helpful, it's often about what may happen in the future. Her extraordinary gifts and extensive training allow her to predict many future events accurately and provide positive, uplifting, and helpful insights for her clients.
In our day-to-day lives, there are many ways that we can anticipate what will happen in the future. In my interview with Peter (podcast on his withdrawal from Effexor XR), he shared how I amazed him with my predictions about what would happen to him physically during his withdrawal process.
We laughed about how I predicted that his abdomen might gurgle or how his dreams might get more intense at a certain point during the week, and voilà, they did exactly that. Though these predictions amazed him, I thought of them as a byproduct of my empirical experiences and understanding of the withdrawal process.
Just this weekend, my brother, who is a financial wizard, shared some insights on stocks and how to make a bigger profit than my current low-interest rate. He followed predictions published by those who did extensive research on the financial market and showed me graphs of how stock prices rose over a three-year period of time.
I think of mystics as doing similar things, except they work with data from different energy fields. Karan Tumasz studied and trained herself to see energies and hear information from spiritual sources to help others. She says that she isn't able to do the same for herself though, which must be a real bummer.
What I've found to be true, however, is that when it comes to the future, not everything is predictable, especially since everyone ultimately has the freedom to choose for themselves. We're constantly introducing new patterns and randomness into the universe through the use of our freedom and agency, which makes life interesting and fun (and sometimes frustratingly unpredictable).
For example, I was supposed to get my living-edge dining room table delivered to my house in early February. The person who makes them promised me that he'd have it ready. Karan said that it would be ready several weeks ago. But, no. I'm still eating at the kitchen island (since October). Humph. This just goes to show that sometimes life just isn't predictable, no matter how much we want it to be.
The Holistic Psychiatrist Podcast (Ep. 5):
Exploring Mysticism with Karan Tumasz
I'm excited to interview mystic and author Karan Tumasz to address the questions: How is it possible that some people can know what will happen years before it occurs? How can we also develop our intuitive abilities and access divine guidance? She shares her life-long experiences as a teacher of the psychic sciences, as well as fascinating stories from her work with others.
