The Importance of Letting Go

Wow, I'm excited about 2020. I love the symmetry of those numbers and how they remind me of 20/20 vision—perfect vision.

As these beautiful numbers become a part of our daily living, let's make room for wonderful new possibilities by letting go of our old baggage and beliefs.

Read on for why this is important and how to do so with ease.

The Importance of Letting Go
Starting the new year by dusting off the old

Nature teaches us the importance of letting go. There is no great rhythm, no true movement, without an ebb, and a flow.

Somehow this lesson gets lost on humans. We expect our lives to march forward and upward in a straight line, and when they don't follow that imaginary line, we feel disappointed in ourselves and decide that we've failed.

Clinging onto something solely for the sake of persevering and never giving up fails to appreciate the necessary balance that letting go creates in our lives. In fact, both processes must be integrated in order for life to thrive and be whole.

Letting go of something is choosing something else more important or worthy of us. For example:

  1. Let go of old goals that no longer suit your personal needs, because it's time your goals fit your older, wiser self.

  2. Let go of relationships that pull you away from your true self and harm your self-worth, because you are worthy of friendship and respect.

  3. Let go of imaginary victories (like on TV, books, social media, or in movies), because you can create grand adventures and bold conquests of your own.

  4. Let go of others' expectations of you, because your life belongs to you and only you know what you truly want.

  5. Let go of old things you never use, because you'll need space for the new that will be coming to you.

  6. Let go of your guilt and shame, because being human is to be imperfectly perfect and deserving of unconditional love and compassion.

Let go and be as light as you can be moving forward into 2020. I invite you to use the Ask and Receive or EET + Logosynthesis techniques to help you move along more quickly and easily.

Wishing you a wonderful and bright new year!
