Unfinished Business: Emily Continues Her Healing Journey Important Lessons on Maintaining Mental Health

Hello there!
It’s one thing to know how to restore one’s mental health and quite another to maintain it.
Today’s newsletter/podcast is about Emily’s continued healing journey as she returns a year after she stopped working with me.
You can listen to her first podcast here: Empowering Emily: Healing from Almost Everything
After a year of working with a functional ObGyn physician, Emily reached out to me to further discover any remaining deep-seated, underlying issues that impeded her ability to continue her path towards fulfillment and well-being.
What brought her back? What are some critical areas that must heal in order to succeed in sustaining long-term happiness, health, and fulfillment? Emily shares her continued effort to create a vibrant life beyond her successful medication withdrawal this second time around.
Have a great week!
P.S. When listening to the edited podcast, both my editor and I were moved to tears. I think you’ll love it too!
Unfinished Business:
Emily Continues Her Healing Journey
Important Lessons on
Maintaining Mental Health
Emily began working with me for the first time on August 3, 2021. We worked together until November 22, 2022. During that time, she regained her health and safely withdrew from Latuda (antipsychotic), Vyvanse (stimulant), Propranolol (beta-blocker/anti-hypertensive), Gabapentin (mood stabilizer), and nicotine. She felt great and continued to feel great for six months after we concluded our work together.
Our intention was for Emily to work with a functional gynecologist who specialized in hormonal health. However, by October 12, 2023, Emily wanted to resume her work with me because she was not able to maintain her health and had “fallen off the band wagon” in certain areas.
Here’s her story. I’ve learned a lot over the past few months as we focused on important issues that helped Emily to restore and maintain her health. I hope that her healing process will be helpful and insightful for you as well.
During our conversation, we explored the following areas:
1. Tell us a little about yourself: interests, age, and background.
2. What did you achieve the first time you worked on tapering off medications with Dr. Lee?
3. Why did you decide to start working with Dr. Lee this time?
4. What did you hope to gain from more holistic support?
5. What do you think caused you to fall off the bandwagon?
6. What did you work on during this time around that has helped beyond medication withdrawal?
7. Share some of your successes and achievements.
8. What was the most important thing you learned this time around?
9. Any last words of advice to the audience?
Enjoy!
Dr. Lee’s practice is located in downtown Salt Lake City, UT.
