Group therapy is fun and filled with opportunities to learn and grow in a reciprocal manner. It is great to discover that you are not alone–that others understand you and have gone through similar experiences. It is wonderful to be able to listen and to be listened to. These groups provide a positive, empathetic, and educational setting geared toward supporting those who want to maximize their potential. Often, after the intensive phase of treatment is over, during which medications and addictive habits have been shed, individuals need follow up, but cannot afford continuing individual sessions. In fact, because of these individual’s stability and new-found health, weekly individual sessions are no longer necessary.
Group sessions provide the support that is needed at an affordable cost. It is meant for those who are mentally stable and able to handle less intensive therapy. Generally, groups are formed when patients having the same gender, similar psychiatric backgrounds, and common goals are able to meet for 1.5 hours weekly, or every other week, together. Typically, individuals will have completed the intake process and have had at least three individual follow-up sessions with Dr. Lee-Bloem before joining the group. This is to help individuals become familiar with orthomolecular and energy medicine techniques and principles, and to have received at least three treatment sessions specifically tailored to the individual’s needs. Group sizes range from 3 to 6 individuals, and the cost is $125.00 per hour.
